Soooooooo. It becomes increasingly obvious as these little posts accumulate: I love basics. Silver, wood, concrete, white ceramic, solids, simple shapes with lots of texture or

complex shapes all in one classic material… these are all elements I find pleasing. Thing is, I live in New York. NEW. YORK. Where 400 square feet is HUGE. Where one tiny counter and a stove equals a “you know, fine” kitchen. Therefore these items that we encounter every day and end up sitting in prime real estate on the counter have to be simple and perfect. The sound of the ceramic lid tapping as it hits the base. The act of drawing the tiny spoon off the perfect little holder to its side. These are the actions that bring us back to those special moments in that one apartment where you lived that one time. Sugar jars… who would’ve thought they could mean so much.
